Araz Barwari | Exclusive to iKurd.net

Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Air Force Space Command have recently said that it had launched a military satellite to the low earth orbit under the banner ” Iranian peaceful space program. However, the satellite will serve and function in the sky for different purposes.

Of course, the launch of the military satellite to the space means military power presence for Iran in space. It also means, by possessing such an advanced technology, the Shi’a theocratic Government and
military of iran will be able to further solidify its dictatorship governance over Iran and its influence over Middle East will become stronger.

The satellite launch was clearly carried out to ensure the dictatorship Islamic fanatic regime continue ruling over the country and also to ensure that Mullahs and IRGC commanders are safe and protected against any attacks aimed at crippling the IRGC military assets and overthrowing the regime from power

However, the recent launch of the Iranian military satellite to the orbit has caused concerns for US, EU, Arabs and Israel allies. While the Iranian Mullahs and IRGC commanders are just injecting propaganda into the minds of Iranian people and the world in general, by saying the satellite was launched only for peaceful purposes..But in reality the Islamic Shi’a regime takes US, Saudi Arabia and Israel as the biggest threats to the security, safety and continuation of the regime. And therefore the regime tends to advance their military capabilities to create deterrence and insurance for the survival of the Shi’a Islamic fanatic regime in Tehran.

In fact, IRGC commanders operate the Iranian national security defense programs as an excuse to justify wasting enormous amounts of public money on manufacturing different military technology equipments and to throw unnecessary arm racing with other countries as well.

Iranian regime knows that US and Israeli militaries have a big network of radars and satellites to track missile launches around the globe. In fact, US has recently used this satellite warning system to detect Iranian military missiles before they hit US military bases in Iraq. The satellite warning system picked up heat signature of Iranian missiles when they were being fired from launchers. The system communicated with US troops right away and gave warning to US troops who were stationed at the Iraqi Ain-Al Asad military base, to take cover before the Iranian missiles struck their targets.

After this experience, the Iranian IRGC commanders learned how important satellite warning system technology is for intelligence gathering, security and protection. The failure of Iranian missiles to cause life casualties among US troops showed the weakness of Iranian military capabilities to successfully attack an enemy armed with such an advanced military technology. As a result, IRGC commanders decided to develop the same space military technology US has in order to overcome this military weakness and enable its air defense system commands to detect and intercept enemy missiles before it hit targets inside Iran.

The satellite warning system can be of great help for military air defense system as well to detect and intercept incoming missiles of the enemy before they hit targets inside a country. The satellite also aid armed forces with intelligence gathering, satellite imagery, communications, and weather information.

Despite of acquiring such a military achievement, Iranian military is still behind US military because it doesn’t have the capability to use spy satellites and launch detection to identify the attack, then satellite tracking to identify the target, then satellite command to try to avoid the attack against itself

US military is still more advanced than Iranian military because.US military has spy satellites, satellite tracking, satellite control, and launch. US space military units also use spy satellites to identify a possible anti-satellite launch location. It orders launch detection and satellite tracking to closely watch that area. It detects a launch there, and uses the tracking to locate the target area in orbit. It already has control of the orbital path of the satellites in that area, and orders all of them to change their orbit to try to avoid the attack.

However, several nations have created a way to shot down satellites. But US military has the ballistic missiles capabilities to defend against it, While Iran doesn’t. US space military units also have all this advanced technology and they use spy satellites to identify a possible anti-satellite launch location. The system orders launch detection and satellite tracking to closely watch that area. It detects a launch there, and uses the tracking to locate the target area in orbit, but Iran doesn’t have such a technology yet. Ultimately US military already have control of the orbital path of the satellites in that area, and it can orders all of them to change their orbit to try to avoid the Iranian military attacks.

“Girls of The Sun” is a French movie. with a Kurdish story and ethnically mixed actors. The movie was produced in 2018, by a French director by the name Eva Hossun. The movie is not the best one in the world, but it is good enough to move your emotions stir and help you learn something from it.

It’s basically a French movie with a Kurdish story, played by a group of ethnically mixed actresses Kurds, French and Iranian.

The movie was produced in Kurdistan of Iraq. The story of the movie was written based on facts about Kurdish YPG female fighters, who were fighting against ISIS Muslim fanatics terrorists in Syria.

The story of the movie is very sad, meaningful and powerful. And acting and videography was carried out in a good way, good enough to make the audience particularly women, to enjoy watching the scenes of the female fighters killing ISIS terrorists.

The movie is emotionally, and intellectually captivating and yet suspenseful. At least, this is how I felt after I watched it. The movie also has some strong themes such as ” Kurdish women are as brave as men. feminism, war, terrorism, violence, rape and sex slavery of Kurdish women by ISIS terrorists”.

Furthermore, the movie has a good story, good elements of suspense: And the film present new idea such as female fighters battle against terrorists. And it sends out a message that women can equally fight wars like men and can protect themselves.

In fact, the story of the movie is based on truth because many Kurdish female fighters have really lost their lives in the battle against ISIS and fascist regimes like Turkey and Iran. But unfortunately their long struggle for achieving democracy, freedom, and equal rights were not concretely supported, defended and appreciate it by the world.

After they defeated ISIS, US abandoned them and Turkey, Iran and Syria together demolished all the democratic projects, values and institutions of Rojava that were obtained by the sacrifices of these Kurdish female fighters. And the fate of Rojava democratic projects is still unknown because big powers like US Israel and Russia don’t support it anymore and Kurds of Rojava were stripped of power and became servants of a dictator like Assad again.

Judging by the way I felt after I watched the movie, I think the movie was worth it to watch because it brings about an emotional response for me. It moves my feelings in different ways. After all art is communicating ideas and emotions that are expressed in a clear and coherent way to the people.

I don’t think this movie will necessarily go down in history as a “Great movie”, But I loved watching the movie because it taught me something new and good. And it moved me emotionally and intellectually.

There are more things other than emotions and a good story of a film but for me these are the main standards of how I know if a movie or a song is good or not. This is my personal judgement of good movies and music.

An excellent poem has been published by the Kurdish poet Halgurd Qahar (Helgord Qehar), on social media. His poem is sad and heart touching. His lyrics moved the feelings and rang the emotional bells of many Kurdish people and brought them to tears

The poem speaks about the economic sufferings of families of Kurdish martyrs and Peshmerga in comparison to the luxurious life of Kurdish ruling families, and their greed, betrayal, selfishness, negligence, and unfair treatment towards them.

It sends a message to the rich people and the Kurdistan regional government authorities to pay attention and help the families and children of the Kurdish martyrs and Peshmerga in times of economic sufferings.

Basically the poet’s main message is the government of Kurdistan isn’t appreciating the sacrifice of Kurdish martyrs because they are neglecting their families and children in times of economic sufferings and hardships.

He implies through his lyrics that it’s not worth it to die for Kurdistan if the end result of the martyrdom will not bear any benefit to the families and children of Kurdish martyrs, but rather benefit only some powerful rich families who don’t necessarily lose lives and make sacrifices for Kurdistan and yet have best of everything in life, be it money, house, car, job, property etc.

The poet also implies that children of rich and powerful people of Kurdistan are arrogant, greedy and selfish because they spend a lot of money on fun and many unnecessary things, but don’t help the hungry and broken families and children of Kurdish martyrs and Peshmerga especially in times of life hardships and economic recessions.

However, while the families and children of Kurdish martyrs and Peshmerga should be given all the rights and privileges they deserve, this should not mean that the rest of the people of Kurdistan should be neglected by the government especially those who happens to be from a family that have no martyrs By law government is obligated to help all people who really need help in times of economic sufferings and hardships.

The real solution to this problem in general is first, Kurdistan regional government should pay people’s salaries on monthly basis without delay. And second, the government should provide social welfare assistance program for the small five million population of Kurdistan.

The government should pay at least 300 dollars every month for food and rent housing to all unemployed, hungry and homeless people, regardless if they have martyrs in the family or not. The social assistance support of government should continue for poor and unemployed people of Kurdistan until they find a job and support themselves on their own.

People of Kurdistan must learn to hold the Kurdistan regional government accountable through their MPs, and peaceful demonstration, if the government fails to respond to their legal and legitimate demands and needs. People should also learn to stop voting for political parties in times of elections when they see these political parties are not serving and helping people of Kurdistan especially in time of economic sufferings.

Araz Barwari is a law student at the University of Nawroz in Kurdistan of Iraq.

Araz Barwari | Exclusive to iKurd.net

Hope of millions of suffering people in the Middle East is fading away about US and Iran reaching a deal over Iran’s nuclear and missile weapon program. The two countries still haven’t reached any new deal over the Iranian nuclear weapon program because they have different demands and expectations of one another.

US, Israel and European countries have consistently asked Iran to drop its nuclear weapon ambition and stop it’s missile manufacturing program, and arming Shi’a militias in the region, in exchange for lifting economic sanctions on the regime.

US and EU countries like France, Germany and UK have offered such a deal to Iran because they are concerned about the Iranian nuclear and missiles program for various reasons.

Iran in response has always said that it doesn’t want to make nuclear weapons but has insisted that since Iran has many enemies, its missile program is needed to be active and updated in-order to be able to encounter any threat and to protect its security and sovereignty from future attackers like Saddam.

Iran also claims it tends to use the weapon only for self defense. Ultimately, Iran justifies its missile program as a legitimate national right like many other countries because it’s run to produce weapons only for protection and self defense. Therefore, Iran says closing it down is not negotiable with anyone.

However, for US, EU, Sunni Arab countries, and Israel, the matter of closing down Iranian nuclear program and missiles factories and also it’s arm supplies to Shi’a militias in the Middle East, is key conditions and demands that is not negotiable with Iran as it is the only thing that guarantees the interests, safety and security of US and its Arab allies in the Middle East. Both sides have conflicting views, demands and expectations from one another which leaves no hope for a peace settlement between Iran and US.

Clearly, neither side is backing down from their demands and conditions or else they would have reached a deal by now. So this means Iranian top Shi’a Mullahs and Islamic Revolution guards commanders IRGC, who control Iran, eventually choose to continue making ballistic missile over accepting western economic incentives offer which would economically benefit millions of Iranian poor and unemployed people who have been suffering as a result of this situation.

Iran is certainly not a true democratic country because its run under a religious dictator. It has a biased, and discriminating religious constitution of Islamic Shia school of thought which doesn’t guarantee the rights of Iranian minorities.

Iranian parliament is too weak to make a decision or a deal with US that would be in the interests of Iranian people because the ultimate decision is made by Shi’a Mullahs and IRGC commanders over its nuclear weapon and missile program. They call it Islamic Republic of Iran’s national security matter.

Meanwhile, many countries around the world such Russia, China have missile manufacturing programs too. They produce massive amounts of different types of modern missiles with different range and sophistication. But this makes one wonder as why US perceive Iranian shorter range missiles 2,000 km a more serious threat than for example, Russian R-36M (SS-18 Satan), missile with the range of 16,000km or China’s Dongfeng-41 (DF-41, CSS-X-10), China with the range of 12,000km.

But apparently US and Israel have their own reasons to put it’s focus and efforts more on stopping the Iranian missile program rather than other countries like North Korea, Russia and China, who produce much more advanced missiles than Iran does.

The first reason is US and European countries possibly believe that the mentality of people who rule China or Russia, who manufacture and possess these weapons, are different than the mentality of people who rule over Iran.

With Iran being run under the mentality of religious fanatic and zealotry leaders like Khamenei, it makes US to believe Iran is more dangerous than China or Russia because religious zealotry and fanaticism ideology of Iranian Shi’a leaders is far more extreme then nationalistic and socialistic ideologies of Russian and Chinese leaders.

China and Russia is not under the rule of religious fanatic politicians and military leaders. They might not be as democratic as the US leaders but they are not religious fanatic leaders either.

The second reason US and Israeli military generals thinks Iranian massive amounts of missile production can turn to a big threat to it’s military forces in the middle East because if Iranian military fire hundreds of missiles together at US military forces especially form different directions and at the same time, (potentially from Iran, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen ) they can’t all be intercepted.

This means few missiles will hit and cause damage and casualties to US military Navy and bases, or oil tankers in the Persian Gulf or Saudi Arabian facilities and maybe even to Israeli assets and lives as well in the Middle East. In fact, destroying even one US Navy Carrier will cost US not only millions of dollars but will also hurt it’s weapon selling market of air defense system weapons.

The third reason is, if US doesn’t stop the growth of Iranian military power in the middle East, US military presence would come off as irrelevant and infective towards the protection of the interests of its Sunni Arab allies from the power and hegemony of Iran in the Middle East.

US and Israel ultimately want a regime change or at least a regime mentality change in Iran towards its own people, Israel, US and its Arab allies. So to achieve this goal, US and Israel are using different means started from economic sanctions to proportional military strikes against Iranian interests in, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iraq.

Basically US is using the policy of carrots and sticks with Iran to achieve its objectives. However, Iranian regime believes that if it stops it’s missile manufacturing program, it will have no strong means to protect itself against its enemies. And Iran will becomes more vulnerable to attacks by anti Islamic Shi’a forces around the world. This claim might be true to a certain extent because groups like Isis don’t hesitate to kill Shi’a Muslims wherever they find them.

However, in reality Iranian regime doesn’t produce missiles of different ranges only to protect its self from groups like ISIS. The real motive behind advanced weapon manufacturing especially in massive amounts means more insurance and protection for Shi’a Mullahs and IRGC commanders to continue ruling and controlling Iran’s wealth, power and resources for ever yet get away with all crimes they have committed against Iranian people and foreigners.

Furthermore, considering the horrible record of human rights abuse and all other crimes Mullah and commanders of Islamic Revolution guards have committed against different Iranian religious, ethnic minorities and foreigners, they know very well that if Iranian government system changes to a secular democracy, Mullahs and IRGC commanders will lose power and wealth of the country and they can be easily arrested and tried for their crimes against humanity.

For the Mullahs and IRGC commanders, staying in power or or leaving the power in Iran is the matter of life and death. They see only holding on to power institutions of the country, and producing high tech weapons is the only grantors to their life safety. As a result a bunch of religious fanatic criminals leaders in Tehran will remain free from prosecution.

Iran regime also knows if they stop making advanced weapons to protect themselves and deter military threats of others, and if they don’t create military power balance with other powerful enemies, and if they fail to keep up with military capabilities of their enemies, they can be easily attacked by US, Israel and other opposition and anti Shi’a group like Isis.

The Iranian regime IRGC military commander and Mullahs know If they don’t control government money, weapons and military in Iran, they can be revolted against by people and easily removed from power.

Once they are out of power, they will eventually be either killed like Muammar Gaddafi or arrested like Saddam and brought to the court for all the crimes they (Mullah and IRGC commanders) have committed against different people since they came to power in 1979.

However, Iranian regime brush all their crimes under the carpet and instead, tells its people and the world that USA’s main intentions behind asking Iran to close down it’s missile program is to first disarm Iran, then invade it and control and plunder it’s wealth and resources. The disarmament of Iranian regime will make the mission easier for US to invade Iran like Iraq.

A peace deal between Iran and US will save many costs, lives for both sides. It will put an end to the long economic sufferings of millions of people in the Middle East. However, if Iran doesn’t take US and European economic incentives offers in exchange for stopping its nuclear and missile program, a military confrontation with Iran will automatically be the next option for US.

However, US and Israel seems to be patient for going to a war with Iran because it continue pressuring Iran economically and politically with the hope to make the regime accept the US offers over its military weapons program.

If Iran doesn’t give in the alternative is war undoubtedly and Iran will lose the war to US. History shows that wars usually happens between two countries when the two countries have conflicting interests and neither sides is willing to accept the offers and conditions of the other in-order to reach a peace deal.

Araz Barwari | Exclusive to iKurd.net

US military forces have recently announced that they are pulling out of some bases in Iraq. However, It’s still unclear whether the US plan is to gradually and completely move its forces out of Iraq or to only pull out from certain military bases that are more vulnerable and reachable to attacks of Katyusha rockets and mortar shells of Iranian proxy Shia militias in Iraq.

Regardless of their intentions and future plans, US military and other coalition forces seem to be facing security problems in Iraq. Because their military bases have come under Katyusha rockets fire by Iranian proxy militias causing casualties, property and equipment damages.

Basically, there are few problems that are preventing the US military and all collation soldiers from having total sense of security and peace in Iraq. The first problem is Iranian proxy Shia militias in Iraq want to kick US military out of Iraq by force. They are firing few rockets here and few rockets there at coalition military bases with the aim to harass them, deny them peace and security and possibly kill them.

Sometimes, they surprisingly and unexpectedly fire dozens of Katyusha rockets together at their (US military) separate and joint military bases with Iraqi military forces. And these rockets apparently are scoring death numbers among the coalition forces. And apparently, neither Iraqi security forces nor coalition forces can not stop the perpetrators from firing these rockets because they continue hitting and causing casualties and damages at the coalition forces bases up until recent days.

In the meantime, it’s still unknown whether US military has not yet deployed Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) system to defend its military forces and encounter the Katyusha rockets. Or the CRAM system could have already been deployed n the their military bases, but might have not been able to intercept and blow up all the incoming Katyusha rockets in the air before they cause death and other damages. However, I assume US military has CRAM air defense system in Iraq because they showed a picture of a test-fire of a C-RAM in 2010, in Balad, military base in Iraq.

The second problem is, US military forces can not detect and strike the real perpetrators and attackers of their military personal in Iraq. They don’t have direct evidence, videos and photos of the attackers to present a legal case against those Iranian proxy Shia militia in Iraq.

US is only suspicious about Hezbollah groups carrying out these attacks against coalition forces in Iraq. It seems hard for US military to eliminate the threats of these bad guys and put an end to this dangerous situation in Iraq Partly because US is facing a guerrilla warfare battle with these Shia militias.

Iranian proxy Shia militias are secretive groups. They have gone through military training by Iranian Quds forces. These militias operate in different countries. They serve the interests of Iran in the region.

When they go out to fire rockets at US military bases, they use guerrilla tactics that are hard to beat easily because you need to use advanced military weapons, constant air and ground reconnaissance, and intelligence gathering. You will also need to spend a lot of time, hard work, and human and financial resources to be able to totally stop their attacks and beat them for once and all.

These Shia militias usually gather in small groups secretly. They plan to launch attacks against US, Israel and Saudi Arabia interests secretly. They have storages of different Iranian made weapons. They cover their rocket launchers in secret houses and business buildings. They wear civilian clothes. They live in secretive places among civilians to avoid being seen and hit by US drones and jet fighters.

They get weapons from Iran as many pieces as they need. They use civilian cars for carrying and moving their weapons such as Katyusha rocket launchers, mortars and other ammunition. And after they fire rockets, they either hide or leave their heavy weapons and vehicles behind and run away with civilian cars to civilian areas. And they quickly blend with civilians before the Iraqi security forces rush to the scene and catch them and even before US military jet fighters and drones fly to the sky, pinpoint and strike them.

Furthermore, Shia militias are fighting in their homeland and they have the support of the Shia local population. They also enjoy secretive support from Iraq government institutions and Iran. They can get intelligence, money, logistics, and as many rocket launchers as they need from Iran because they fight for Iran.

In addition to that, members of these secretive Shia militias who call themselves with different revolutionary names, even serve in the ranks of Iraqi national army. And who knows, they might even play double deal games with US military forces in Iraq.

In fact, They can act as friends to US soldiers during daylight in the same military base they do training together, , but can turn to a real enemy to US forces in the dark night. As we have learned in the past that secret loyal Taliban fighters who joined the national army of Afghanistan, used this double dealing games and tactic against coalition forces in Afghanistan.

They deceived and spied on American soldiers, their locations, movements, plans and equipments. And they planned accordingly and killed many collation soldiers in this way.

The third problem is, US military forces are striking Iraqi military bases in retaliation of these rocket attacks. And they usually and randomly pick an Iraqi military base of popular mobilization forces and strike them from the air and kill some humans that are not necessarily the same bad guys who have fired rockets at US military forces.

And this usually happens because US military forces can not catch and strike the real perpetrators and attackers in time of assault So they choose to strike at their alleged weapons facilities, friends and other Iraqi Shia military members, something that has made Iraqi government angry at US military forces.

Meanwhile, there is no reports saying US military have used CRAM air defense system against Shia militias Katyusha rockets and mortars when their military bases came under rocket fire. But either ways CRAM system doesn’t guarantee the safety of the military bases 100% as it can not intercept all incoming rockets.

Even if it was used to intercept the Shia militias Katyusha rockets, there’s still a very high chance that out of hundreds of rockets, few would go through the air defense network unintercepted and end up killing people and military personnel.

As a matter of fact, Israel has a very advanced CRAM air defense system called Iron Dome which is reportedly considered to be the top CRAM air defense system of the world. But according to Israeli military officials the system doesn’t guarantee 100 % that it can intercept all enemy incoming Katyusha rockets especially if they are fired in big numbers at once.

Iron Dome was put in test by Israeli military against Hamas rockets. The test came when IDF troops attacked Hamas positions in the Gaza strip in July 2014. Gaza militants launched around 4,600 rockets and mortar shells in response, around one-quarter of which landed near areas populated by Israeli civilians.

The six Iron Dome batteries were activated hastily reinforced with three more. Together, they shot-down 735 rockets and mortar shells and failed to intercept around seventy, consistent with an 85 percent to 90 percent success rate claimed by the IDF.

Again, this shows that all number of Katyusha rockets and mortar shells can not be totally intercepted and exploded in the air by CRAM air defense systems, especially if they are fired simultaneously, massively and in huge numbers.

Ironically, Katyusha is an old Russian made weapon that is cheaply manufactured is still challenging modern advanced weapons like CRAM system. Katyusha It has short range rockets. They are, imprecise and can not be guided by radars or GPS satellites. But it’s easy to move it around and use it in guerrilla warfare.

Altogether, despite the invention of modern anti Katyusha rockets and mortars systems like CRAM, Katyusha remains an effective weapon in the battle. It can cause both mental and physical damages to a powerful military forces especially when used in guerrilla warfare.

For US and coalition forces to keep their military and civilian personal lives and military bases safe from Shia militias Katyusha rockets in Iraq, they need to first invest on both ground and air intelligent gathering about the hidden headquarters, weapon and training facilities of these Shi’a militias.

US also need to monitor their movements and activities through spying drones and orbiting satellite to carry preemptive strikes and kill the real perpetrators who fired rockets at US military bases and killed American and coalition soldiers. And second, US needs to guard it’s military bases 24 hours with drones and possibly. with helicopters.

Thirdly, CRAM system should be active and in alert in large numbers for 24 hours. This will very much reduce the chances of Katyusha rockets hitting their military bases and causing casualties and other damages. CRAM system need to be deployed in large numbers this will empower the CRAM rocket intercept network.

If coalition forces choose to stay in Iraq, they will have a tough and costly task to do in order to be able to protect it’s solders from being hurt by Iranian proxy Shia militias in Iraq. In fact, the harassment of Shi’a militias rockets towards coalition forces can gradually lead to the development of psychologically problems for coalition forces in Iraq if not stopped and intercepted.

Living in such a worrisome and stressful situations can definitely hurt mental health of US soldiers in those stationery military bases as they would need to be extra careful and constantly, watch for 24 hours or be in alert and prepared to take cover in bunkers or in buildings for their safety.

In fact, the air defense unites of CRAM system must have their eyes locked on radars screens and their fingers on computer mouse and buttons for 24 hours, in case a Katyusha rocket or a mortar shell is flying towards their military base.it would be a very stressful and fearful environment for the US soldiers to live in. Eventually, the situation can cause depression, paranoia and hallucinations to American soldiers in the long run.

Despite US military having such an advanced military technology and capability such as spying satellites, drones, helicopters, and patriot and CRAMPS air defense system, it failed to protect it’s bases and military personnel from Katyusha rockets as the casualties and damage the rockets have caused in the past are evidence to that.

US will either choose to stay in Iraq at whatever costs it may bear, and protect it’s solders from being killed in Iraq by using it’s advanced military technology or it may eventually need to launch a full scale war against Iran or may choose to negotiate a deal with Iran temporarily in-order to ease off this tense situation and save lives and all other costs of their military personal.

Araz Barwari | Exclusive to iKurd.net

China is making claims and accusations about the origins of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Chinese government officials is saying loudly in different media outlets that coronavirus is an American disease that might have been introduced by members of the United States Army who visited Wuhan in October of 2019 for military athletes world games China also believes COVID-19 was developed in a laboratory, and is it being used as a biological weapon to contain the formidable Chinese economic power and hegemony.

In reality, few things that are connected to one another is making China getting suspicious about the virus might have originated from US and escaped from the America’s main biological warfare lab Fort Detrick, in Maryland.

However, the lab has been ordered in 2019, to stop all research into the deadliest viruses and pathogens over fears contaminated waste could leak out of the facility. And more than that China believes that the US military have the history of using biological weapons before against native American Indian.

On the other hand, US believes that the coronavirus has come from China. And it ( COVID-19 ) may have been accidentally spread by China’s National Biosafety Laboratory at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, where researchers have studied bat coronaviruses.

US says that the lab is less than 10 miles away from the seafood market where a cluster of COVID-19 cases was first discovered. Ultimately, US believes that the said lab is located in the Institute of Virology in Wuhan, where the dangerous pathogens were purportedly kept and looked at as potential bioweapons.

It is hard to judge who’s claim is right and who’s wrong. We live in a world and a time where evidence are the best principles to use for making right judgments about the different claims of different people. And based on evidence people know that some countries like US, Germany, Russia, China make biological weapons. People also know that researchers and virus hunters do experiments on different animals that carry deadly viruses in labs. They do medical analysis, experiment and also use viruses to produce living drugs to cure diseases.

It’s a sensitive work that requires a lot of care and precautions when it’s carried out because of health safety reasons. If a virus scape out of the lab it can cause sickness and death to millions of innocent people around the world. As in the case of Ebola virus, many people still don’t know whether the Ebola virus was either released intentionally and used as biological weapons or the product of a research project gone wrong. Some communities even suffered a total breakdown of trust in healthcare professionals during the outbreak.

Luckily in the case of coronavirus scientists have conducted researches to come up with a conclusion about the type of agent and whether it is an engineered virus in lab or a natural virus. The results were there is no evidence that coronavirus was genetically engineered.

When there’s not enough evidence to support claims it’s hard to make right judgments although lack of evidence doesn’t mean someone is always innocent because we know a lot of crimes happen in this world secretly by powerful people. They cover it up or it goes without being detected.

Both China and US military know that biological weapons can get out of control if they are not carefully handled. Once the deadly virus is out it is hard to control as who to direct it to and who shouldn’t be targeted.

And of course the damage and lethality of the virus depends on the type and power of the virus and whether it has been engendered in a lab to have minimal damage power or a natural virus that has been hunted, kept and harnessed in a lab for biological warfare.

Viruses are indiscriminate when they strike. it can reverse and strike even the originator of the spreader and the manufacturer. The action of using it to harm your enemy may end up having the opposite effect and results to what was intended to achieve. However, some military still not only develop and keep biological and chemical weapons in their arsenal but also sell it to others.

Saddam had biological and chemical weapons in his arsenal. He bought it from European countries. He used the weapons against Kurds. I don’t think this crime against humanity has yet been recorded in the historical records. The usage of biological weapons by Saddam’s secret service agents with the cooperation of Turkish secret service against Kurdish refugees in 1988 in a refugee camp in Mardin city in Turkey, left hundred of Kurdish refugees sick and dead.

The secret service poisoned the Water and food in the camp with biological weapons. The results was hundreds of Kurdish refugees became sick and died in the camp. There are still survivors of that horrendous crime living now among Kurds who can testify to the crime. Kurdish refugees left behind a cemetery of their dead one in Mardin camp Guzeltepe after they were targeted by Saddam’s biological weapons.

Furthermore, some military leaders who possess the weapons believe that biological weapons are still relevant to this day and can be used as an effective weapon in our modern time against your enemy. But only when it’s used cautiously and minimally, without causing too much spread and damage globally.

They basically believe in our modern time, biological Warfare can be most effectively used to undermine the ability of a country to function, rather than used as a more traditional “weapon” targeted against enemy soldiers.

In their estimate and assessment, military labs of biological weapons can engender a type of agent or virus that would be engineered only to spread rapidly, be resistant to non-host environments endure dry, heat, cold, etc, have a novel pathway to infection low natural immunity and cripple its host without necessarily killing it.

High mortality pathogens like. Ebola have a hard time getting off the ground because they are self-limiting. People rapidly get sick and die before the pathogen can successfully spread. The Influenza virus is a far better example of what a weaponized biological agent would look like. It only kills a small percentage, but it spreads rapidly and effectively and makes a lot of people sick.

Instead of trying to kill a small number of people, you’d use the agent to make a large number of people sick, taking away from the group contributing to that country, and creating an additional drain on that country’s resources.

Some reports even say that military labs not only works to develop anti biological weapons medical agents for curing diseases but also make viruses to fight the enemy and to create a global market for the pharmaceutical companies of their country just as some computer software companies make both viruses and anti viruses to make money.

Now, whether coronavirus was engendered in a lab or hunted from a wildlife and brought it to a lab for experiments st the end of the day it came from either wildlife accidentally or it was hunted and by researchers and kept in a lab.. Was it in Chinese lab or US. We don’t know because we don’t have evidence. And both countries are accusing each other of being the originator of this deadly virus.
.
coronavirus was not engendered in a military lab as a biological weapon. But it was rather a virus that exists and transferred from animals to human beings. There is lack of evidence of which lab the virus first came out or escaped from the Chinese or US lab or just transformed accidentally from an animal to a human being in a marker

Although we know some 280 US military athletes participated in Wuhan world military games. We also know that the US military lab ( Fort Detrick, in Maryland) has been shut down over possibility of virus escape from the lab, there are no concrete and direct evidence supports the truth and proves beyond the reasonable doubt that the US military athletes have toured around and spread the virus in Wuhan city as a biological weapons with the aim to cripple Chinese economy and drain it’s resources.

Araz Barwari | Exclusive to iKurd.net

Turkish military used a new war tactic on how to take out Syrian air defense system in the few days war happened between the two countries in Idlib province of Syria.

The new tactic was to send a flock of drones at one over the areas where Assad’s military forces were positioned, with the aim to first, jam all Rader system of Assad’s military forces and then search for their targets freely, find them, and strike them one by one. However, US military knew this military tactic before Turkish military forces learn it.

USA military has already made an experiment in 2018 on whether a flock of Drones flying from every direction towards the enemy positions can jam the Radar system of the enemy. The test turned out to be true and successful that if a flock of drones get closer to targets, they can bring a lot of noise to bear on the radar antennas, and especially if they fly from several directions at once.

Turkish military learnt this tactic from US military. And it put this tactic in practice in the war with the Syrian military forces. Surprisingly, the tactic worked out very well for Turkish military. They killed and destroyed many Syrian soldiers and military equipments without giving away many losses because their flock of Drones jammed the radar system of Assad’s military forces on the ground around Adlib province.

Turkish drones staged an unprecedented terror in the air. For several days, the Turks posted dozens of videos about the defeat of the military equipment of Putin’s allies. It can be seen that strikes were made even against individual militants, against the Grad MLRS artillery batteries, and that losses reach many hundreds of dead and wounded.

Turkish drone Bayraktar TB2, 2018. Photo: Presidency of the Republic of Turkey/ssb.gov.tr

The most important thing to know is how Turkish drones ( Bayraktar ) destroys the latest Russian air defense system like (Pantsir-S1). This anti-aircraft cannon-missile system is very expensive. According to the manufacturer It has a cost of $ 75-80 million on the world market.

Turkish military forces show videos that the Pantsir’s radar was working but nevertheless the Turkish drones go unnoticed, and the operator without interference hits the target with a bomb.

This is not good news for the Russian weapons manufacturing companies as they will lose reputation and business of selling their arms to other countries.

The bottom line is, now we know how and why Turkish military forces fought a better war and had an upper hand in the fight with Syrian military forces. We also came to know that drones can jam Radar systems.

And jamming radar is power intensive, which has always given the advantage to larger aircraft with more juice. Having the ability to use a small drone to knock out an advanced antiaircraft radar and surface-to-air missile guidance systems like Russian Pantsir-S1.

Although, this tactic of sending a flock of Drones to jam the enemy readers first and then strike them and their weapons, doesn’t mean that Turkish military forces now can defeat the Russian military or the whole Syrian military forces this way because Russian have way more advanced air defense system, weapons and radars than Pantsir1. Syrian military forces also have more advanced radars and air defense system such as S-200 that can not be easily jammed by Turkish military Drones.

Araz Barwari | Exclusive to iKurd.net

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad claimed Thursday that the “Kurdish issue” does not exist in his country, calling it “illusive and a lie”. He also claimed that Kurds living in northern areas are originally from Turkey.

“Regarding the so-called ‘Kurdish issue’, there is nothing called a ‘Kurdish issue’ in Syria for a simple reason: Kurds have been living in Syria throughout history but some [Kurdish] groups who live the north came [to Syria] during the last century due to Turkish [government] oppression,” Assad told Rossiya-24 in an interview aired on Thursday.

However, and according to the historical records and archaeological evidences, Kurds of Syria have lived in Syria for thousands of years. They are the descendants of the Mittanis, and the Mittanis are the ancestors of the Kurds. The Mitanni empire covered an area reaching from the eastern Mediterranean coast to the east of present-day northern Iraq from the 15th century to the middle of the 14th century BC, almost 3400 years ago.

Its heart was in what is now northeastern Syria, where its capital Washukanni was probably located. Akkadian texts from the site of Tell el-Amarna in present-day Egypt show that the Mittani kings interacted as equals with the Egyptian pharaohs and the kings of Hatti and Babylonia.

Furthermore, German and Kurdish archaeologists have recently uncovered a Bronze Age palace on the eastern bank of the Tigris River in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

It is a solid evidence that proves Kurds have always existed in the areas they reside on now in Syria, Turkey, Iran’s and Iraq. And If you go back to the beginning of history of human beings, the time of cave men, and hunters, nations and boundaries have not existed among people. And all people including

Arabs,Turks and Persians at some point in the history were hunters, tribes and nomads and member of a people having no permanent abode, and who travel from place to place to find fresh pasture for their livestock. They eventually settled and began building and developing the land they reside on and this is when and where your history of civilization starts.

Despite the fact that so many empires swept Kurdish villages and areas all across with military attacks, invasion and wars but none of them could completely destroy Kurdish identity because Kurds as the descendants of Lulubies, Mitanis, Guties and Medes, have always managed to survive as a cultural entity regardless of their strong neighbours, and outside invaders. They often accepted to be subservient and continually cooperated with their neighbours and even joined forces with them in war times.

Kurds have also converted to their religions and followed their political ideologies under pressure, threats and force The history of Kurds is similar to the history of Jewish. They have been struggling to preserve their identity and survive all along history.

Kurds are about 40 millions of population, an ethnicity that is not one or two millions to get rid of by military force or to digest them with assimilation policies. They are still not only stateless but also don’t have the basic human rights in the countries they live in.

The right to self determination of ethnic groups is legal and has been recognized in international law. But Ultra nationalistic sentiments combined with religious zealotry of Turkey, Iran and Syrian regimes, which are against democracy, plurality and diversity, have become a big obstacle for Kurds to obtain their rights in these countries.

And as a result, the recognition of democratic rights of Kurds and the formation of Kurdish autonomous regions in these countries have remained unfulfilled.

All areas in these countries where Kurdish population reside, have remained undeveloped or not as developed as areas where Turks, Arabs, Azars and Persian population live. This is clearly discrimination and violation of the Kurdish minority rights.

The mentality of these regimes particularly of Turkey, Syria and Iran, works upside down. Their minds are twisted because If they let a Kurdish autonomous region in Syria be established, a region where it is run by democratic principles and institutions, and based on respect for human rights and rule of law, it will be of much benefit for the state of Syria interns of peace, security and economic development and prosperity, just as the autonomous regions have turned to work out brilliantly for their states in Europe.

There are tons of reports online written by international social and political experts who have said that, there are many benefits of regional autonomy of Kurds for both Kurdish population and the majority Arab,Turks, Persians population and other ethnicities in the region, if a Kurdish autonomous region established within these countries.

The reports generally say, ” First, the autonomous region of Kurds in Syria will manage their resources based on their own regional development objectives. Just like the Kurdish autonomous region of Iraq, the Regional Government will be familiar with the set of resources that they have, as well as the major competencies of the region, in terms of the region’s agriculture, tourism, environment, infrastructure and industries in order to produce specialized products, goods or service, unique only to the region.

Secondly, there will be an opportunity for the regional autonomous Government to create their own revenue sources from taxes, fees and charges. Although, the region is mandated to share in the national taxes, it is also entitled to have an equitable share of the national wealth.

Thirdly, the Kurdish Regional Government will have the liberty to formulate and implement projects and programs that are fit to the conditions, needs and priorities of the region. Policy makers may properly identify these sectors’ needs so that they can be able to formulate projects and programs that will effectively help these marginalized members of society.

Lastly, the ultimate goal of a Kurdish autonomous region in Syria is to be self-reliant and independent from the National Government. This means that region shall be essentially on its own, fully utilizing their resources, and knowledgeable of their weakness, and look for the best combination in order to maximize their potential.

In this way, the region can rely on its own assets to improve the welfare of their people, without much aid from the National Government or other donors.

The proposed Kurdish autonomous region in Syria also has some identified disadvantages, some are political and social in nature but the most related disadvantage of autonomy to Economics may be excessive taxation.

Since the autonomous government has the liberty to create new sources of revenues, the people may be burdened with more taxes, especially local business enterprises and residents. Businesses may be in prone to double taxation, because taxes/fees may be paid to both the regional and national government. While residents may be burdened with more fees and charges, when transacting with government agencies.

Finally and the most important, one of the concerns of those who are opposed to the autonomy from the two earlier plebiscites is the possible abuse of those in authority, zeroing on corruption.

The Regional Government, having the liberty to allocate and disburse funds for the projects that they, the Regional Government, themselves have decided and approved, officials may be put their self-interest first over the interest and welfare of their citizenry.

Corruption was already proven in many studies done around the world to be the main reason why people remain to be poor. Corruption steals the economic opportunities of citizens to be productive from the equal utilization of resources, and income equitably redistributed in order to improve their welfare.

In conclusion, the benefits of having autonomous regions outnumber the disadvantages. The benefits are ideal. It will definitely help the citizens, especially those from the marginalized sectors.

However, if corruption will not be solved or removed from the autonomous government system, like it is happening now in the autonomous region of Kurdistan of Iraq, ordinary citizens, cannot reap the benefits of autonomy in the future, and state will not either, no matter how ideal, no matter how noble the purpose of autonomy is.”

Araz Barwari | Exclusive to iKurd.net

Turkish government says that the reasons behind its involvement militarily in Syria are legitimate and in compliance with international law. It says national security of Turkey plus protection and humanitarian assistance to people of Syria are the reasons Turkish military forces have gone inside Syrian soil.

“We do not aim to face-off with Russia. Our only aim is to stop the Syrian regime’s massacres, radical groups, the displacement of civilians,” Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on Sunday.

Turkey generally speaks publicly only about two to three reasons to justify its presence in Syria. It is to drive the Kurdish (YPG) militia away from the border, and to find a place inside Syria where two million Syrian refugees currently hosted by Turkey, can be settled on, and to avoid and save more costs and refugee crisis for Turkey. But in fact there are other more hidden reasons that Erdogan doesn’t tell the public.

First, Erdogan wants to weaken the Kurds of Syria so they don’t think about creating their own autonomous region and so he avoid the transmission of Confederation or independence infection to the Kurds of Turkey, who are more prone to such a scenario. And second, to make demographic change in northern Syria from the Kurdish majority to the pro-Turkish Sunni majority.

And third, to form and keep pro-Turkey Syrian militias that Erdogan can rely on and use when and where he wants. And fifth to topple Assad regime because Erdogan does not benefit from Syrian Baath political secular system in Syria and he is helping the Syrian pro Turkish Islamists rebels and Jihadists to take power in Damascus.

Erdogan believes that all these Turkish foreign policies in Syria will be in the interest of Turkey if they’re carried because it will boost Turkey’s security, influence, business, and economics in the region in the future, and yet will make Turkey a stronger and more influential player in decision making at international level.

Turkey is basically trying to secure national interests of Turkey in Syria but through militarism, force, invasion and aggression meaning securing its national interests at the expense of hurting national interests of other nations.

Pursuing national interests is something that all nations of the world do for its development or at least for its survival. And nations try to maximize their national interests by cooperation, conflict or alliances with other nations.

However, when, the national interests of countries are congruent with each other, they develop close relations, which are mutually beneficial such as European nations. On the contrary, if their interests are defined in such a manner that one’s loss becomes another gain (Zero-Sum-Game), there relations are likely to be conflicting.

There have been many rulers, governments, dictators and policy-makers, such as Hitler, Stalin, Saddam, Ataturk, Erdogan, Assad, Khomeini and many more, who have used the matter of national security and interests as a cover to deny the basic human and democratic rights to other ethnicities and also to invade other nations, to change their government, install puppets and exploit their natural resources and they justify their actions under the name of national interests.

However, when it comes to formulate the goals and objectives of national interest, all the nations must make honest attempts to make these compatible with the international interests of Peace, Security, Democracy, protection of freedoms and human rights, respect for the sovereignty of other nations, environmental protection, sustainable development, peaceful coexistence, peaceful conflict-resolution and purposeful mutual cooperation for development, because all of these matters and values are good and are the common and shared interests of all the nations.

All this makes it essential for every nation to formulate its foreign policy and to conduct its relations with other nations on the basis of its national interests, as interpreted and defined in harmony with the common interests of the humankind without the need of using force, military and aggression in securing national interests.

National interest should be pursued for protecting the interest of citizens of the country but not to dominate, invade or exploit other countries to secure them. After all national interest should be subordinate to human interest. Nations must care for the whole world and humanity rather than only national interests.

However in a world highly divided by national boundaries, it is difficult to try not to care about our national interests, but there is a difference between working for good and legitimate national interests and bad and illegitimate national interests. I mean, nations must demarcate moderate nationalistic attitudes from jingoism in keeping and securing their national interests outside and inside their borders. This is something that Turkey has been doing it in both Iraq and Syria.

As humanity becomes more civilized and intellectuals prevail day after day, I guess, the impact of nationalism will be less pronounced. In conclusion while nations must be adamant to serve their national interests, this should not be at the expense of others.

Intellectuals from various parts of the world should have an intimate contact to fight against jingoistic leaders who sacrifice democracy, minority rights, freedoms and human rights, peace and security for their own national interests. Jingoistic leaders like Erdogan, Assad, Khamenei and so forth, are mostly religious and ultra-nationalistic backward and illiterate people.

Araz Barwari | Exclusive to iKurd.net

Turkey is facing a tough battle with Syrian military forces in Idlib province. It seems hard for Turkey to win this battle with Syrian military easily, without a big cost, and in a short time.

As a matter of fact, Turkey has already lost many soldiers since the clashes started in Idlib between the military forces of the two countries.

However, Turkey has just began realizing that winning the battle with Assad forces is not as easy as winning it with Kurds, because Assad has enough support from Russian and Iran, and also enough advanced weapons that can hit Turkey’s military from air, land and sea.

After Turkey lost many of its soldiers, it began pulling back somewhat and seeking help from NATO, as it could not win the battle against Syria alone.

It’s also begging Russia to stop helping Syrian military forces in hitting Turkish soldiers in Syria. But NATO and Russian are not listening to Turkey because they don’t want to sacrifice their interests for the interests of Turkey in Syria.

It seems unlikely that NATO will help Turkey militarily to win this battle because If NATO provide Turkey with advanced weapons such as patriot system, it will be a danger to Russian warplanes and Russia will immediately retaliate and provide Assad with more advanced weapons and will even help Assad’s military to shoot down Turkish and Israeli warplanes in the sky of Syria.

However, if NATO betray or neglect Turkey in Syria, the loyalty of NATO towards Turkey goes under question and it’s trust will be broken probably not only by Turkey but by more members of NATO.

In fact, it seems NATO likes to watch Turkey having a war with Syria by itself because after all NATO wants Assad regime toppled and at the same time wants to see members of the Jihadi groups within the Syrian rebels to be killed too in the war.

Russia also likes to see both the Jihadi Syrian rebels and Turkish soldiers bleed too so that to teach a lesson to Turkey and show her who is the boss here and make Turkey think twice before shooting down Russian jet fighters. again.

Business and personal interests are behind this Syrian long time conflict. As we see NATOs help for Turkey is conditional because it wants Turkey to listen more to NATO and stop buying or making advanced weapons unilaterally.

NATO also wants Turkish government to changes its policies to strengthen and better democracy, human rights and rule of law within Turkey and improve good relations outside towards its own neighbours particularly Greece, Cyprus and Israel.

NATO basically wants Turkey to stop pursuing and implementing the dreams and imperialistic policies of Islamic Othmanism combined with ultra nationalistic mentally of Kemalism in Turkey through militarism, force, and aggression towards its neighbours. What Turkey is basically doing is securing it’s interests at the expense of hurting the interests and values of other nations.

Clearly, Since Erdogan came to power, Turkey has been acting irresponsibly, unilaterally, and recklessly towards its neighbours Syria and Iraq and also towards Israel, Cyprus and Greece in the region.

The war in Syria is over ideological differences but is mainly over business and personal interests of several players. Turkey wants Syrian Sunni Muslim rebels reach power and rule over Syria.

However, A friendly secular democratic and pro Israel and west regime is what NATO wants to take over in Syria. While Russia and Iran prefer Assad and his political party as pro Russian and Hezbollah of Lebanon men to remain in charge in Syria.
