U.S. ambassador, James Jeffrey: Your interview with Al-Arabiya on January 28, 2012, showed a real politic; it reminded me of a TV episode show on American Broadcast Company “ABC” in the late 70’s and early 80’s called Fantasy Island.

One of the episodes where a woman wants to be a queen of a castle, but at the same time she is unaware of it’s terrible secrets. What kind of democracy are you talking with? Certainly neither Athenian nor Jeffersonian democracy. Have you seen a democracy where a prime minister holds several positions for himself?

Nori al- Maliki has a trust deficit, he talks about the rule of law and constitution when it only suits his stances. He is accusing Tareq al-Hashemi running death squad, no body should defend the murderer, but timing of the accusation makes many people skeptical. Why he waited until the last U.S. troops withdrawal from Iraq? If he knew this kind of crime was committed under the watchful eye of Mr. Al- Hashemi ,he should have arrested him and turned him over to Judiciary for trial.

The contemporary Iraqi constitution has given right to any provinces if they chose to declare autonomous region, but Machiavellian Mr. Maliki has been making threat to those provinces leadership. He made many promises to Kurdish leadership to form a coalition government with his bloc and delivered none.

Nori al- Maliki and many other leaders in Baghdad , have stated on many occasions, that the Iraqi constitution adapted to quickly, they are trying to vitiate it. Many international experts and scholars think the new Iraqi constitution is fair and balance for all Iraqis.

Mr. Ambassador during the interview you indicated “ that the U.S. supported U.N. Security Council Resolution 1483, which supports a unified, pluralistic and democratic Iraq, that conception to be given accolade, however the U.S. and the U.N. must support the full implementation of Iraqi constitution; in particular, the most important one being the article 140, particularly to reverse the Arabization policy on Kurdish land, the people property needs to be given back the to original owner.

This misguided policy was imposed on Kurdish people by previous regimes, the most destructive policy was under dictator Saddam Hussein and his Ba’athist regime. So far, there have been no emblematic attempt by political elite in Baghdad to tackle this inertia.

Mr. Ambassador, you said we let the history to decide if it was worth to spend trillion- dollars; its always justified American to die for his country.

Remember an expression in America, if you break something you owned , until you fix it; I believe it was worth to remove one of the worst dictator of the 21 first century from power, but to leaving prematurely from Iraq and to let other country to take over political influences. I will let that kind of judgments for pundits and the historians to vote on that issue.
