Wealth and Public Wealth

In dealing with the resources of the earth, human beings may be the stupidest creatures of all. When they attack the earth’s resources and minerals, claim lands as their own, draw borders around them, collect the resources, and take them home.
This stupid creature does not stop there. It starts gathering armies, weapons, and ammunition so that it can seize the wealth and resources of others, without even taking a look at history to ask: Did those who spent their lives pursuing these things ever reach peace and comfort? What happened to those conquerors, mafias, and thieves in the end? A life full of war, misery, problems, disgust, and anxiety.
Then their powers collapsed, and they fell under the curses of their own citizens. In history, they were thrown into the dust like ugly and disgusting monsters. In literature, art, and culture, they became symbols of injustice and oppression, and countless novels, films, and documentaries were made about them, so that generation after generation of humanity could pour its hatred and anger upon them and never forget them.
Well then, I do not understand. Why don’t these conquerors, mafias, and thieves stop for a little while, give their minds a rest, learn a lesson from history, repent, and give up this disgusting business?
The Bean Seller Sleeps Better Than Any President

The face of a bean seller (Paqle frosh) is much calmer, happier, and freer of worries and complications. You can read pride and peace in his eyes. But look at the presidents, the great mafia bosses, and the thieves: their faces are nothing but suspicion, fear, disgust, anxiety, and restlessness. Their eyes are like pools of blood, completely filled with defeat, pain, suffering, sleepless nights, and loss.
Well then, what do these people, who live in such a difficult and exhausting condition, do with all their power, wealth, and possessions? All those trillions and billions they have taken control of, when will they spend them? Or, fundamentally, what have all those resources done for them? When a human being’s greatest wealth is their lifespan and happiness, their lifespan passes day by day.
That is something no one has control over. After seven or eight decades of life, human beings and death eventually meet at a table, in a sad café. So what could be a greater form of stupidity than spending your life in anxiety, war, conflict, and fear?
Why does a person need property and wealth when they do not even own themselves? Your coming into this world and your leaving it are outside your own wishes and desires. Every organ in your body has a date when it was created and a date when it will expire, and no government or medical committee can read it and know what that date is. It could be the next minute, or next month, or next year.
All Your Billions Cannot Buy You One More Breath
But everyone knows that they do not own even one organ of their own body, and they do not know when their heart will stop beating. There were people who lived yesterday just like you and me, busy with their homes, their wealth, and collecting their money. Today they are dead. Or today they have lost one of their organs.
Go to the emergency and trauma wards of hospitals, and then it will become clear to you that we are not only not the owners of homes, wealth, and money; we are not even the owners of ourselves. At any moment, our lives can be taken away from us, and we are finished. An earthquake can kill hundreds of thousands of people in less than half a minute. Can homes, wealth, science, and technology do anything to help or save those hundreds of thousands of dead people?

When a virus or a bacterium that cannot be seen destroys millions of human lives, what can human beings, governments, money, wealth, and their guards do for them? All those visible palaces, weapons, guards, homes, and possessions, why are they helpless against that invisible, deadly enemy? A bacterium, when magnified a thousand times, is still only about the size of a one-millimeter thread. We call it tuberculosis or plague, and in certain periods it has carried millions of people on Earth away to death.
Here, the ignorance and stupidity of human beings becomes clear in the way they live on this planet: in all this running around and stuffing themselves with useless things, keeping themselves busy with dirt and dust, without stopping to think about themselves.
Why were they created? To eat dirt and dust, or to rise toward the heavens and be freed from dirt and dust? What are those things that they have made themselves obsessed with and devoted their lives to? They are all dirt and dust, and they are made from dirt and dust.
Were you created so that you could spend your lifetime collecting dirt? What is the benefit of all the dirt you have collected around yourself when everything that exists upon the earth eventually becomes dust? So why this endless hunger for dirt, and for what purpose?
An Arab thinker says that the reason human beings shiver, suffocate, and die in the heat is because human beings are not originally creatures of the earth and were brought down to the earth at some point.
Otherwise, why do other animals not need heaters and air conditioners, blankets and clothing, cooking their food, and hospitals for giving birth? The earth belongs to those animals, and their lives are suited to living on Earth. But human beings are strangers to this earth, and on this earth they are guests.

Therefore, human beings should not be stupid and greedy guests. They should not resort to stealing and accumulating the wealth and resources of the earth, a world that, in no way, is their permanent home.
Instead of attacking it like other animals do, they should think about themselves and become engaged in the science of anthropology (the study of human beings), so that they can understand what a creature that resembles no other animal is doing here, on a planet where no season is truly suited to it, and where its real place and original homeland are.
Can human beings live on Earth only through conquest, oppression, mass killing, looting, and plunder?
Must a human being only deceive another human being and turn them into their soldier, farmer, worker, and servant?

Were human beings created to claim the earth, the sky, and the seas for themselves, and in doing so spread genocide, war, slaughter, massacre, and immorality?
Did human beings come into existence so that they could sell themselves and become slaves and servants to tyrannical rulers?
No.
A human being who does not own themselves, how can they become the owner of the earth, the sky, and other people?
A human being whose one or more organs can stop functioning at any moment, or who can completely die and disappear, by what reason and logic does this human being try to interfere with the lives, food, land, and freedom of other human beings and conquer them?
When it has been proven in psychology and sociology that human beings are restless in the marketplace and always live with visible and hidden anxiety, then if that human being is a tyrant, mafia boss, or thief, where must the curve of their anxiety and worry reach? At what level must their fear, panic, and adrenaline secretion be?
Then why all this pain, sorrow, suffering, psychological knots, and complications? When, after seven or eight decades, you begin, day after day, to walk arm in arm with death, and hospital wards, IV lines, and intensive care, with hope and pleading, only move your death a few centimeters, a few hours, or a few days farther away, only for death to quickly come back toward you?

When we were university students, during the summer break they made us undergo military training. Our group was very active and marched very well, so they decided to take us to Tikrit for the military exercises of the active groups from all the universities in Iraq. The president might even be there.
Our weapons had no ammunition in them. Even so, on the morning of the exercise, they opened our weapons one by one, removed the weapon components, and made sure that not even one bullet was left in the ammunition chamber, in case one of us might shoot and kill the president! Even with all those security measures, the president himself did not come and sent his deputy instead. That was when I realized the extent of the fear and anxiety in which the president lived.
For God’s sake, was that a life, Mr. President?

Well, if you had given up all those officers, soldiers, slaves, homes, and possessions, and had traveled around God’s world like an ordinary human being, without guards, palaces, and mansions, wouldn’t that have been better?
What did you gain from that life, except your own sorrow, fear, and anxiety, and the killing, slaughter, displacement, starvation, orphaning of children, and widowhood of women?
Even if, through those brutal actions, theft, greed for control, oppression, and tyranny, you had at least become immortal, or had been happy and at peace, then at least you would have had a life. But you did not even have that.
There were countless attempts to kill you, and in retaliation you killed many people and leveled thousands of villages and towns to the ground. From all four corners of the world, curses and attacks were directed at you. For God’s sake, was that a life you lived?
May God have mercy on you, Mr. President, when in the end you were abandoned, and you and your entire establishment fell under the feet of your wounded, angry, and hopeless people.

Those who are in power today can also ask themselves: What exactly are we waiting for? We have stolen the homes and wealth of millions of people for ourselves. Palaces, billions of dollars, and private airplanes, what benefit have they had for us? Where are the happiness, confidence, and peace?
Where is the freedom to take a walk alone in the streets? Where is dignity? Where is respect, when all the media and social networks are filled with insults, threats, and humiliation directed at us? Will seventy or eighty uncertain and unguaranteed years in this harsh and violent world really make millions of people curse us because we stole their food and freedom?
What good is the food and freedom of millions of people to us when we cannot even manage to eat our own food, and we cannot enjoy our own freedom for even a moment?

What is the difference between a prisoner and a police officer? Each one is standing on a different side of the glass. The prisoner is proud that he is in prison for the sake of his freedom and legitimate rights. But the police officer lives with a troubled conscience, while everyone calls him an instrument, a bootlicker, and a servant of a tyrant, with nothing to be proud of.
That is why, as soon as possible, presidents, greedy businessmen, con artists, thieves, and mafias need to stop, think, and ask themselves: What exactly are we doing? What is this eating dirt, stealing dirt, and piling up dirt that we are so stubbornly doing? When will we finally be happy with our own humanity and rise above a world that belongs to everyone, and give up this forbidden hunger for dirt?
Ships of the Thieves Have Always Sunk in the End
Nali says:
> Why claim purity of lineage for this corpse-like world?
> Whether you are a Sayyid, a Barzanji, a Pir, or a Zarawi,
> Come, let me tell you this point, Nali:
> Even if the whole world were yours, you would still remain bewildered and helpless.
I also admire Hikmat, who spent all his youth in prison for the sake of human freedom. He says:
> This world will sink.
> The ships of the obstructers and the thieves will sink…
