What the dreaded man Mohamed Talib Hilal started, the demographic change of Kurdistan, and the ethnic cleansing of Kurds in Syria. The ignominious Assad al-Zubi has no lesser of an evil mind- set project policy; the chief of so called Syrian oppositions’ negotiations delegation to Geneva labeled the Kurds as Terrorists. This “useful idiot” al Zubi’s myopic vision has the regional reactionary movement supporting his agendas, including some countries, just like Hilal’s anomaly project in 1963. In this fraught period, only Kurdish unity can withstand this aberration.
See below some of Hilal’s reprehensible project points; to Arabize the Kurdish region in Syria:
“In a detailed secret state document entitled ‘A Study of the Jazira Province From the National, Social and Political Aspects’, Hilal (1963), Hasaka region’s chief of Political Police, proposed a twelve-point plan to Arabize the Kurdish region:
1. ‘Batr’ or dispersion and transfer of the Kurds to the interior,
2. ‘Tajhil’ or obscurantist policy of depriving the Kurds of educational institutions because they have produced the opposite results,
3. ‘Tajwi or ‘starvation’ policy of leaving the Kurds unemployed to make them prepared to leave the country,
4. ‘Extradition’ of the Kurds of Turkey who took refuge in Syria after the suppression of the uprisings in the 1920s,
5. A ‘divide and rule’ policy of setting Kurds, especially those claiming to be of Arab origin, against Kurds,
6. ‘Hizam’ or Arab Belt similar to the one proposed in 1962, to be instituted,
7. ‘Iskan’ or “colonisation” policy involving the implementation of “pure and nationalist Arabs” in the Kurdish regions so that the Kurds could be ‘watched until heir dispersion”,
8. Proclaiming the “Belt” a military zone where army detachments supervise the settlement of Arabs and the expulsion of Kurds,
9. A ‘socialisation’ policy of creating collective farms, mazari’ jama’iyya, for the Arabs who will be resettled in order to train and arm them like the Jewish frontier colonies,
10. Disenfranchising anybody ignorant of the Arabic language,
11. The Kurdish ‘ulama’ (clergymen, mullas) must be deprived of their religious authority and replaced by pure Arab clergymen; “the Kurdish ‘ulama’ may also be transferred to the interior for their assemblies are literally Kurdish assemblies and not of a religious character; and
12. Launching a vast anti- Kurdish campaign among amongst the Arabs”- Prof.Amir Hassanpour- Kurdish Times NY, 1991
It was widely reported then over 100,000 thousand Kurdish people were deported from their homes by Helil‘s project.
At this junction, the Kurdish nation is at its pinnacle cross road purgatory status to unknown future it will require astute leader(s) to place the national interest above & beyond personal and political ideology. Looking back at a few catastrophic events that chauvinistic regimes in this region have tried to annihilate the Kurdish people as nation to exist,
a) Halabja city, where over five thousand people perished
b) Kobani city was completely destroyed by ISIS terrorists.
c) Shingal city [Sinjar], including surrounding villages were all destroyed, where still over three thousands Yazidi Kurds, women and children are missing at the hand of the chauvinistic ISIL/ISIL“Daesh”.
If unities are not found among Kurdish political parties, the downcast history will repeat itself.
For example, during American Civil War in the early 1860’s, President Abraham Lincoln was advised by many congressmen and several of his advisors to not have a second election process, but Lincoln persisted that the election was to go on as scheduled.
“This morning, as for some days past, it seems exceedingly probable that this Administration will not be re-elected. Then it will be my duty to so co-operate with the President elect, as to save the Union between the election and the inauguration; as he will have secured his election on such ground that he cannot possibly save it afterward”(Wikipedia)
Therefore, politicians and political parties should not be afraid of the people’s power because the power is essentially vested in the people; it’s a deep tragedy that it appears that dictators and autocrats don’t seem to believe the people’s power, therefore they think that they will outsmart their predecessors.
In the United States, when it comes to the national interest , if a sudden crisis were to happen, whether nationally or internationally, the party which is in power will ask the other party leaders who are not in charge of current government apparatuses about the their opinions on the situation, or how to deal with the current crises .
To build a democratic society from a bunch of grim visions from people like Hadi al-Ameri, who did not let Lebanon’s passenger aircraft land in Baghdad international airport because his son Mahdi was not on board, the Poet Sa’di Yosif, who called the Kurds ‘monkeys’, Bashar al-Assad who wants to re-impose his dictatorial role, and who doesn’t seem to understand that Syria is destroyed as a country and doesn’t feel the current ecliptic carnage in Syria, and last but not least, Assad al Zubi, who called the Kurds ‘terrorists’, it is just like someone who says they will build the Taj Mahal in the North pole. Because of this misguided mindset policy in this region, all the people will continue to suffer, and all regional people will be ‘waiting for Godot’…
If a political consensus is not found for these indelible political discourses among dissenting views within the Kurdish leaderships, the international support for the Kurdish aspiration most likely will erode and have negative consequences. Wretched people like Al –Zubi will go after Kurdish aspiration with full force.
