
CAIRO,— Veteran Egyptian actor Naeem Issa died on Monday at the age of 92 after suffering from pneumonia, according to local media and sources close to the family.
Issa passed away at a hospital in Alexandria, where he had been receiving intensive care.
Medical staff had placed him on a ventilator after his condition deteriorated over the past week, according to people familiar with the matter.
Born in Cairo’s Al-Gamaleya neighborhood in 1933, Issa began his acting career with performances in Alexandria’s state-run theater programs.

He spent part of his early career with the Naval Military Theater, later joining the Alexandria troupe and the ensemble led by renowned actor Abdel Moneim Madbouly.
Over the course of his decades-long career, Issa appeared in numerous theatrical productions, including El-Waad Sayed El-Shaghal, where he performed alongside celebrated comedian Adel Imam.
He also starred in several popular Egyptian films with Imam, including Karakon Fil Sharei and Meen Feena Al Harami.
His final credited appearance was in the television series Abdel Aziz Street in 2011.
