Despite pro –West, the Arab States objections a nuclear Iran, and as expected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been very critical that the United States is not tough enough with the Iranian regime on many issues, including the most concerned one, the nuclear talks; in addition it has been widely reported that current Israeli Prime Netanyahu and US President Obama do not see eye to eye on the Nemours Middle East issues, nuclear talks with Iran is on the top of the list…therefore, if the two leaders have a different political philosophy, then it is hard to agree on a disagreeable issue. It appear that the President Obama‘s administration is very anxious for the nuclear negotiation to succeed despite strong resentments from the key US allies in the Middle East, and at the same time, the whirlwind Middle East political landscape, and its geopolitics is on the verge of perilous change ISIL/ISL.
Nuclear ambitious Iran goes back little over half century ago; then late deposed pro- West Shah of Iran with the assistances from Western governments particularly the United States who assisted then the Shah’s regime as bit of the “Atoms for peace Program”. These amalgamations of early 1950’s of the United States and Western governments in Iran’s nuclear programs unabatedly continued, at one point, autocratic and domineering the imaginative Shah Mohammed Reza dynasty was saying that Iran will be an industrialized nation, along with the nuclear program industry. However, this nuclear agendas unceasing until the Shah and his regime were ejected from power by Iranian revolution in 1979, by all indications that the secret nuclear program, and its clandestine nuclear research program ceased, where Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini who deemed these kinds of weapons “haram (sinful) unethical and immoral in Muslim Jurisprudence”.
Iran’s nuclear program, slippery slope head nose started with the West in 2003; where the International Atomic Agency (IAEA) first stated that Iran “had not declared sensitive enrichment and processing activities. At that time, Iran stated that it was pressured to undesirable to secrecy, that the United States pushed many of its protections agreement with the UN Security Council, dictated that Iran hang its nuclear enrichment activities.” UN declared “in November 2003, that Iran had systemically failed to meet its obligation under its (Non Proliferation Treaty –NPT) safeguards agreement.” Soon afterward Iran was put on notice, if authority doesn’t disclose all of its nuclear programs; Iran will face with economic sanction, and possible military threat from US and Israeli. After 2005, bellicose president of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was in state of denial that the Holocaust was questionable and no homosexuals are in Iran. United States 43rd president George W. Bush was nick named wartime president, who was preoccupied with two ongoing wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, therefor the nuclear negotiation stalemate didn’t make too much headway, the same time Iran defied the West, and continued its research programs, whether that research was for a peaceful purpose, or military? And same time the Iranian theocratic regime was propagandized by Western Leaders through news outlets, gross human rights violations, and election riggings, so forth…
(Once, the former Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir said, there are no governments in the Middle East; “they are tribes with their flags.” These are some samples of that asserted view: Dictator Saddam Hussein relied mostly on his Tikriti tribe, former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki relied on sectarian Shi’a sects and Bashar Assad ‘s Alawit sect is his life line, and the list goes on…)
“From May 2006 to March 2007, the United Nations Security Council passed a serious of resolutions requiring Iran to terminate its nuclear enrichment.”
Both aforementioned presidents’ office time expired, and they were gone, still the nuclear issues remained unresolved one in between the Western Powers and Iran.
Afterward, two new symmetrical presidents were sworn in: Elected President Barack Obama of United States with positions the new domestic agendas and different approach on the international policy of his predecessors; however the motto still, “work with our allies to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.”
However, with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad still in power in Iran; the nuclear Issues didn’t make any tangible results. On August 4, 2013; selected Hasan Rouhani, Iran’s new president with aspiring ameliorate policy domestically and internationally, including nuclear talks- issues with the Western Powers, in order to revive Iran‘s exhausted economy, or at least partially to left economic sanctions on Iran. It looks like that both sides US and Iran have involved some kind of PR campaigns: Former Democratic Congressman from Kansas, Jim Slattery who traveled to Iran on December 9-10,2014; met several Iranian officials, including foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, President Hassan Rouhani ‘s chief‘s staff and including a trip to Ayatollah Khomeini tomb… Since Slattery returned from Iran, the former Democratic Congressman is on the PR campaign, has given many interviews without any empirical evidences, only talks goodies on the behalf of Iranian regime, how sincere the Iranian leaders are on the nuclear issues, so forth, but it appears that Mr. Slattery ‘s sanguine only looked at 90 degree angle, didn’t look at 45 degree angle, many opposition leaders are in the jail, gross human rights violations, it was widely reported Iran’s election rigging; Iran executing prisoners of conscious including minors and unabatedly supporting the brazen Bashar Assad’s regimes in Syria’s civil war, where over 20000 compatriot, have been killed.
(It has been reported that Hadi al-Amiri has consulted Qassem Soleimani Commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard on the Kirkuk issue: Just a thought, is Amiri preparing breakfast for Soleimani, or is Soleimani fixing dinner for Amiri? Well, I leave it to political pundits?)
It sound like, Obama’s administration would at minimum like to regulate Iran’s nuclear programs, not to dismantle it. President Obama’s administration nuclear talks commenced with Iran, at the time when the majority of the US congress were Democratic members of his party; now the aggregates has changed majority to Republican Party members; any foreign agreement, especially on the defense and security issue that the executive branch, which President and his administration make, it has to go through legislative processing for ratification, which US congress, House and Senate, even if Geneva talks succeed between the US and Iran, the deal might run into legal limbo, in US Congress, the majority Republican members who do not approve many the President Obama ‘s foreign policy ‘s approach.
There are political landscape fast changing in the Middle East; ISIS/ISIL terrorist, which has occupied large swath of territory of Iran’s clients Syria and Iraq, larger than the size of Britannia and continue to expand on the Sunnah’s Communities in the region: ISIS/ISIL it is long term threat to the US security and the other Western Countries; however, ISIL/ISIS is immediate existential threat to the Shi’a theocratic astute regime in Tehran; Iran is well aware of, that to fight ISIS/ISIL alone geo-politically is not astute, it probably would be considered Shi’a verses Sunnah . ISIS/ISIL already is at war with Iran’s proxy regimes in both Syria and Iraq .Probably ISIS/ISIL threat has assuaged to a more malleable condition on the nuclear talks, currently on going in Geneva, Switzerland.
However, despite objection from the key US allies in the Middle East, the perilous political landscape, flails upheavals, ISIS/ISIL terrorist are on the collusion course in the Middle East; allusion is tilting toward some kind of nuclear deal reach between Western Powers and Iranian theocratic regime.
