Trump’s political games in the world – The Kurds’ opportunities in Rojava lie in an autonomous region

President Donald Trump has changed the game plan as his focus, at the beginning of his campaign, was to bring peace to the world through his policy, but indeed, it has shifted to a different agenda and exacerbated the world. Apparently, Trump has transformed into a typical politician and defaulted on most of his promises.
Peace and economy were President Trump’s focus and major agenda during his presidential campaign, which influenced the American citizens to cast their votes and send him to the White House for the second term. It has been nearly 12 months of Trump’s presidency, and the Americans generally are still under the pressure of the economic difficulty, with the exception of the gas price in the U.S., which is the lowest since 2021, according to AAA.
Trump’s peace policy has continuously been failing as the two major wars, Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Hamas, are unlikely to end soon. The war games have always benefitted the powerful nations and became the sources of profits for the elite politicians and the billionaires across the world. This is not limited to one powerful nation, such as the U.S., but in fact, it is a connection, after all, between the nations to share the profits of wars.

However, after failing to reach an agreement with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to stop the war and retreat from the invaded Ukrainian territories, Trump has instead made a U-turn toward Putin and invited him to join Gaza “Board of Peace,” which is a plan proposed by Trump in 2025, with some nations being members to promote stability, restore a lawful government, enduring peace, and managing Gaza.
By inviting Putin to join the “Board of Peace,” Trump is either swaying away from his role to stop the Ukraine-Russia war, or it is his distraction technique to shift the focus from the Russian aggression against Ukraine to the peace process of Gaza. It is noteworthy that the Russian invasion of Ukraine’s Crimea in 2014 was a test for the U.S. to respond and defend its ally, but evidently, the U.S. has failed.
Russian hostility has further increased as in 2022, the Russian forces began launching attacks on Ukraine and invading more territories, which opened the door for a no-ending war between the two countries. According to Council on Foreign Relations/Global Conflict Tracker/War in Ukraine, Russia now controls nearly 20% of Ukraine’s territories, including Crimea.

Trump has constantly blamed former President Joe Biden for failing to stave off the Russian attacks and the invasion of Ukraine. But Trump’s plan to end the Russian-Ukraine war has also stalled as Putin disregarded the international community, including the U.S., and continued to defy NATO.
Although Putin violated international law in waging the war against Ukraine, seemingly, he was rewarded by Trump with such an invitation to join the “Board of Peace.”
Evidently, U.S. foreign policy has been creating chaos and endangering the world with both Democrats and Republicans being accomplices. Interestingly, Noam Chomsky and Nathan Robinson in their book, The Myth of American Idealism, wrote, “When Putin had amassed troops along the Ukrainian border and demanded a commitment from Joe Biden that Ukraine would not join NATO, Biden responded, ‘I don’t accept anybody’s red line.’”
The stubbornness of Biden somehow can be seen as a factor in increasing Putin’s hostility and invading Ukraine. Obviously, U.S. foreign policy is creating more enemies than friends, and thus, causing instability across the world.
However, Trump’s preposterous invitation to Putin to join the peace plan of Gaza is completely beyond common sense. As Putin is rejecting every peace plan to end the war with Ukraine, he is receiving an invitation to join a peace plan! But also, this invitation can reveal Trump’s intentions, which are: one, Trump is stepping aside from NATO and embracing Putin for a better relationship, and two, he is realizing that his strategy regarding the Ukraine-Russia war is failing, and therefore, aligning with Putin, instead of opposing him, can be in the best interest of the U.S.
According to Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), as Putin and his staff waged the war, they kidnapped at least 20,000 children and countless adults. However, Trump’s strategy has not built a solid foundation for the nations seeking peace to unify and stand on firmly.

The question is: How will a warmonger secure enduring peace in one part of the world while he is leading an ongoing war? Obviously, inviting Putin to join the “Board of Peace” is only a political game of President Trump as his main goal is the U.S. presence in Gaza to insure Israel’s security.
Evidently, the existence of Israel is not only necessary as the Jewish nation but is the protector of the U.S. interests in the region. As in the 1980s, Biden said, “Where there is not an Israel, the United States would have to invent an Israel to protect her interests in the region.”
The Middle East’s fate has always been surrendered by the elite politicians as they bet on contracts and agreements in their dirty political games, and the “Board of Peace” is another of Trump’s political maneuvers.
From “Make America Great Again” to a complete disaster,
The same U.S. foreign policy and a different president
The American people are deceived by U.S. politicians and the policymakers, and regardless of the public’s opinions, the decision will be made. Obviously, the public is driven by the policies that have already been approved and implemented. “What we discovered is that the public opinion…matters hardly at all in the decision-making process. A small number of elites get together and they make the decision,” the international relations scholar John Mearsheimer said.
The Trump presidency has become another disaster for the world, and the Kurds in Syria (Rojava) are included. The American public does not see the hidden factors behind Trump’s international immoral policies as he is distracting and agitating the American people by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and crackdown on illegal immigrants in the U.S.
Obviously, it is the same immigration law that the former presidents of the U.S., except Biden, were enforcing. But Trump’s strategy in creating chaos is the way to maneuver. Trump did not distinguish himself from his predecessor in misguiding the American public and repeating false information to the degree to be perceived as truth, and this is an illusory truth effect.
After all, except for disaster and continuous chaos, Trump’s “Make America Great Again” has not brought greatness to America.
The double standard of Trump’s war on terrorists, peace plan, and the Kurds in Syria

The U.S. war on terrorism was another political game, which was based on the interests of the U.S. across the world. The U.S. applies its own definition to the term “terrorists,” which can be clearly seen as a double standard. This can be applied to Hamas and Syrian Ahmad Al-Sharaa’s Hayat Tahrir al-Sham. While the U.S. designated Hamas as a foreign terrorist organization, it removed Hayat Tahrir from the terrorist list.
Trump took a different approach in enforcing U.S. policy in the world, and apparently, trust in him as an ally is eroding. As he is causing bitterness in his relationship with his NATO allies, Trump is stepping closer toward Putin to reduce the threat of Russia as being another major power beside the U.S., and also the similarity between both Trump and Putin’s mindset can be a reason for a better relationship.

Now, under the cloudy sky of the Trump administration and the ongoing events in the Middle East region, the Kurds in Syria are facing the threat from the Syrian Islamic government completely backed by Trump, the Turkish government, the long-time ally, which is the U.S., who betrayed them, and the uncertainty of their fate.
Abominably, the U.S. ambassador Tom Barrack wrote on X, “The greatest opportunity for the Kurds in Syria right now lies in the post-Assad transition under the new government led by President Ahmed al-Sharaa.”
However, Ambassador Barrack must understand that the Kurds’ opportunities lie in an autonomous region in Rojava.
