“There is A Time for Everything”, a time to be born and a time to die, a time to tear down and time to build, a time for war and a time for peace, and time for every activity under the heavens. These verselets of wisdom are from the Book of Ecclesiastes in the Old Testament telling us that like sunrise, sunset and sunrise again, we must accept change as an inevitable cycle of life in everything that exists under the heavens.
The Middle East is changing and Iran in the center of the Middle East, is an ancient country that is coming to the end of its natural life cycle. The coming demise of Iran has not been the result of anyone’s ill wish or hatred of the people of Iran, but is the direct result of centuries of sinful and unrestrained crimes that successive Iranian regimes have committed against the people of Iran.
Most at the receiving end of this cruel and uncivilized form of governance, have been the non- Fars Minorities living in Iran. Among them has been the Kurdish people who live in the Western region of the country starting from the North-West to South-West of Iran.
The Kurds of Rojhelat (literally means Sunrise), have always taken on the brunt of the fight against the government’s systemic assimilation policies accompanied by severe human rights violations. The history of human rights violations under the former regime was not any less severe than what is now experienced under the Islamic regime.
Moreover, cultural incompatibility, all forms of discrimination, forced linguistic conformity, theft of natural resources, economic deprivation and underdevelopment of the Kurdish region are statistically verifiable justifications for separation and independence of Rojhelat from Iran. The full rights of the Kurds of Rojhelat to self-determination and an independent Sovereign State, as a part of an emerging Independent Greater Kurdistan is the goal of the Kurds under the ongoing changes sweeping the Middle East and in Iran.
The Rewards and Responsibilities of an Independent State.

The vision of creating an independent Kurdish State has roots in history that dates back to the end of WWI and Paris Peace Conference and the Treaty of Sevres in 1920, and to the United Nations Charter Conference in San Francisco in June of 1945. Although due to political intransigency of Tri-Islamic-Brotherhood at the time, led by Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran the Kurdish strive for independence did not reach its goal, but the dream never died, and has continued to this very day.
Since the foundation of the United Nations which was founded by some 49 member nations, and today the member nations of the UN has reached 193 nations. This increase of some 144 nations has been the result of the decolonization of colonized states, including the breakup of the former Soviet Union, Yugoslavia and the amicable dissolution of countries like the former Czechoslovakia, and some as the result of revolutionary wars and land conquest by force and winners of wars.
Some members of the UN are island countries with populations in the low 1000s. In comparison to the Kurdish population nearly 50 million strong, it is an obvious injustice for the Kurds to not be granted an independent nation of their own. Now, and as it was in post WWI when the former Ottoman Empire was broken up and new countries were being created in the Middle East, the opposition to Kurdish independence was mostly led by Turkey and Iran.

Today, both continue to suppress Kurdish aspirations and foment unrest throughout the region through Islamic Jihadists and extremist movements to expel the US forces out of the Middle East with one of their main objectives consolidate the Islamic World, including to prevent the creation of an Independent Kurdistan (insufficiently Islamic), and to create an Islamic State of Palestine that will eliminate State of Israel but be home to a Jewish minority with a Palestinian State.
With the war between Iran and Israel, it doesn’t take a genius to see that the dream of Persian Islamic domination of the Middle East has turned into a shattered windshield that has blinded the road ahead for the Islamic regime.

Today, the Islamic regime is entering the same political situation which gripped the Shah’s regime in late 1978 early 1979 when his choice was to save his regime by creating a bloodbath versus the choice he made which was to cut and run.
During the Jina Amini uprising, the Kurdish people of Rojhelat unequivocally demonstrated and loudly shouted, “No to the dictatorship of the Islamic regime” and “No to the unwelcome and rejected son of the former dictator.”
With the establishment of an autonomous and independent Rojhelat, there comes shared rewards and collective responsibilities that must be born by the Kurdish people. The prioritized responsibilities are the following:
- Unification of all the Kurdish political parties must be the first priority to form a provisional leadership of Rojhelat.
-
Establishment of securities in the Kurdish inhabited regions by Kurdish defense units from every village up to major cities that includes the following provinces: Western Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Hamadan, Ilam, Lakistan, Luristan, Bakhtiari, parts of Fars and Khuzestan provinces to the Gulf. These regions are parts of the Map presented by the Kurdish League of Khoybun to the San Francisco Conference on March 30, 1945
-
Prevention of a civil war with other neighboring minorities in Iran, especially to establish a friendly relationship with our Azari neighbors and brothers. It must be mentioned that historically Azerbaijan has been a part of the ancient Media and part of Kurdistan until the arrival of invading Turks who have Turkified the population of Greater Azerbaijan. The true and historical identity of the Azeris is more akin to the Kurdish people than to the Turkic people.
-
Providing humanitarian assistance to the Kurdish and non-Kurdish populations within the above regions to prevent hunger and social disorder.
- Outreach to international communities for assistance for humanitarian needs and assistance to establish law and order and peace and security.
-
Call for Elections to establish a legitimate Independent Kurdish government of Rojhelat.
The Rewards of an Independent Kurdish State:
The most sublime and inspirational example in history is the example of American Independence from England and the creation of the first Democratic Constitution in the modern history. The revolutionary Founders of America acknowledged the inadequacy of the Constitution, yet, it left it to the future generations to make it more perfect. This inherent “imperfection” by design, has been the key driving engine of debates in the American political system that calls for Change through political discourse and legislative process which is called Democracy.

This 4th of July will be over 248 years, since the United Sates has achieved its Independence with remarkable advancements in many fields of endeavor whereas other countries with thousands of years of history have not achieved. Happy Birth Day America! These remarkable achievements can only be credited to the visionary wisdom of the Founding Architects of the United States who albeit faced many challenges, were able to unite and build a new nation by an open-ended constitution, which if sustained and improved is and will be the envy of the world.
If the Kurds can learn from the American example, the rewards for the Kurds having an Independent State of their own is immeasurable. By planting the seed of a new Kurdish leadership with integrity, courage, compassion and problem-solving abilities, one can anticipate a future nation of Kurdistan emerging on the site of the ancient civilization of Media/Kurdistan. After all, the Kermanshah Valley in Rojhelat is known to be the site of a very deep and early civilization where other historic and pre-historic civilizations started.

The Kurdish culture has already demonstrated to the world, its inherent characteristics with its culture of spiritualism without religious radicalism summarized in now famous Kurdish Slogan during Jina Amini uprising coined as “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi), translated as “Women, Life, Freedom”.
This message coming out of the Kurdish culture making its imprint on the minds of Iranians and the larger global community, can be a source of political philosophy from which a new Kurdish Constitution can be articulated.
Ownership of natural resources, revival of Kurdish language and culture, hosting of World embassies in Kurdistan and Kurdistan being hosted by the world community, participation in world affairs and having a seat in the United Nations are the by product of an Independent and Sovereign State of Greater Kurdistan which may begin with the emergence of an Independent Kurdish State of Rojhelat by preparing now for an amicable political separation from Iran.
