Killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar will not remove the dark cloud from the Middle East’s sky. Indeed, the decades of Israeli-Palestinian’s conflict has become a sad routine for both Jews and Palestinians. Ending the misery of the region will not end with hopes and ineffective efforts of the U.S and the Western nations.
It is the U.S’s strategy to replant its roots and reinforce the small number of the troops that left in the region after the major troops withdrawal from Iraq. Since the Israeli-Hamas war began, the U.S has increased its troops to more than 40,000, and with no doubt, this number will increase.
Apparently, every U.S administration has a way in contributing to the region’s conflicts, which all serve the same political purpose. Obviously, the U.S has not advocated a long time peace in the Middle East, and with every new administration, the U.S creates a new strategy to intervene and enforce its policy in the region.
This has been seen in the past and it will continue regardless of the administration Political Party. The U.S’s goal in the Middle East will remain the same, which is chaos and conflicts. Therefore, peace will never be able to survive in the Middle East under the greed and the political interests of the powerful nations, such as the U.S, Russia, and Turkey.
The U.S President, Joe Biden, in a statement expressed his hope for a ceasefire in Gaza after the killing of Sinwar. President Biden referred to the October 7, 2023, vicious attack on the Jews, “Over 1,200 people were killed on that day, the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust, including 46 Americans.” Biden said. But he did not mention the 42,000 innocent Palestinians killed in this war.
President Biden continued telling people that after Sinwar, it will be a political settlement, “There is now the opportunity for a “day after” in Gaza without Hamas in power, and for a political settlement that provides a better future for Israelis and Palestinians alike.” This is another hoax of President Biden telling the world.
Furthermore, Vice President Kamala Harris reiterated the same rhetoric in her lame statement, “Today, there is clear progress toward that goal. Hamas is decimated, and its leadership is eliminated.” And “This moment gives us an opportunity to finally end the war in Gaza,…” She stated.
In fact, to review the number of Hamas’ leaders being killed in the past until now, it can be realized that the elimination of the group’s leaders has not impacted the groups’ operations. What does this indicate? This group, regardless of its heinous operations, has been established based on principles to defend the Palestinians rights.
Seemingly, defining Hamas as a terrorist group without defining its political environment and finding the factors that generating the group to fight is blatantly a mistake. However, to be clear that this statement is not a vindication of Hamas.
This is similar to the Kurdistan Workers Party, PKK, as it has been defined by the U.S and its allies, including Turkey, as a terrorist organization! Is the PKK truly a terrorist organization? And, how to trust those nations’ definition of terrorist since many of their actions in the Middle East are terrorizing the region? In fact, this debate is based on perspectives and interests. Evidently, people of the Middle East do not share the same interest with the powerful nations and regimes, and hence, these differences create different definitions.
However, political settlement in the Middle East is beyond Sinwar’s death, and peace is not under the mercy of Hamas, but indeed, it is surrendered by the U.S foreign policy. Therefore, understanding the political agenda of the U.S can be a path for a clear understanding of a group like Hamas, or perhaps, the other groups and organizations that are defined and designated as terrorists.
The term “Terrorist” is produced in the U.S political factories
The U.S intelligence is basing its definitions of some foreign groups and organizations on the interests of the elite politicians and the relationship between Washington DC and those groups. The U.S cannot be trusted in its definitions of the political groups and organizations, and in fact, such definitions do not stand on a solid foundation.
For example, Hamas was not designated as a terrorist by the U.S until 1997. The U.S is viewing one side of the situation in its designations to the military groups across the world. This clearly can be observed in the Turkey-PKK conflict, while Turkey viciously terrorizes Kurds, but the PKK is designated as a terrorist by the U.S.
However, when the Afghan Taliban, after harboring Al-Qaeda to conduct the September 11, 2001, attack, became the main enemy of the U.S, it was never designated as a terrorist! “And, thus, the designation would be accurate enough. The question is whether or not it would serve the U.S. and Afghan government purposes for that step to be taken.” Said James Dobbins, the former Representative for Afghanistan. Seemingly, the term “Terrorist” is produced in the U.S political factories!
All in all, it is a double standard of the U.S, and the continuation of its manipulation in the Middle East.
