Can Religion Be Defended with This Kind of Harsh Language?

If a religion cannot teach its followers morality, respect, respectful speech, and peaceful dialogue; if it cannot equip them with even the most basic knowledge needed so that they can defend their religion without insults and harsh language, then that religion has certainly failed in this respect and has not been able to produce believers who are thoughtful and rational.

It is a disaster when the product of a religion that is more than [1,400] years old is an army of believers who are rude, verbally aggressive, and ill-mannered, attacking everyone around them. The only thing this religion has given them is the ability to insult and disrespect others, at which they have become experts.

Anyone who follows social media can see that a very large number of these young Muslims, whose intellectual baggage is empty and who have little meaningful thought of their own, constantly attack anyone who makes even the smallest criticism of Islam, makes a logical observation about the opinion of a cleric, or posts something they do not like.

Any social or cultural activity that does not pass through the filter of their religion and is not acceptable to them is considered anti-religious and must be condemned. Then it becomes the target of a barrage of insults.

These people use language so vulgar and filthy that it is difficult to find anything comparable. They use types of insults that do not exist in the vocabulary of any culture.

They believe they are defending their Islam with this kind of language, but they do not realize that the result is the opposite: it brings shame upon themselves and their religion and turns even more people against them.

I have been dealing with this kind of closed-minded and backward-thinking person for a long time. Their insults and filthy language do not bother me any more than a mosquito bite would, and they will never make me abandon my principles or beliefs. As long as I live, I will continue with the same approach.

These people who make a business out of insulting others share the same bad manners and the same style of insulting others, and they seem to have been educated in the same failed school. So I will group some of their insults and comments into several points. Then you will see how misguided they are.

You are an atheist who is against God and the Prophet, the Quran, and Islam.
On Judgment Day, I will see you in Hell and see what happens to you.
Islam is always progressing; you should die from anger.
Obviously, you like loose women and women who expose themselves.
Islam shows women the greatest respect.
Go to the whores at discos and nightclubs.
Why don’t you talk about the wrongdoing by Jews and Christians?
Your relatives are promiscuous, so you defend promiscuous women too.

What is strange is that most of these young people live in the heart of Europe, yet they have gained nothing from that civilized culture in terms of tolerance and acceptance of others. Instead, they have gone backward, like a computer running in reverse, and their minds have been filled with superstition.

These young people behave this extremely even while they have no power. If they had power, they would act like ISIS, beheading anyone who made even the smallest criticism of their religion.

Many of them have created fake Facebook accounts just to insult me. No name, no photo, no posts, no friends, in short, a completely empty account.

This shows their fear, dishonesty, and cowardice. If someone truly believes in their religion, they should not be afraid; they should defend it openly, rather than hiding behind fear, fake names, and fake accounts.

I am surprised by some of the names they choose, because they do not even know what fake names to invent for themselves. Some of the names are so ridiculous that they are both laughable and pathetic. Or a man uses a woman’s name and photo. I was able to expose two of them. After writing their insults, these people then disappear, leaving no trace of the fake accounts.

As for the insults themselves, forgive me for not giving examples. There are two reasons for this. First, there are so many of them, nearly [800] insults. Second, many of them are extremely disgusting and not suitable for publication. Unfortunately, they came from people who consider themselves [24-karat] Muslims.

I am sure that before they became acquainted with extremist clerics, many of these Muslim youths were decent and well-mannered young people. But those extremist clerics taught them this kind of moral degradation.

They have reshaped their minds in such a way that they have become hostile to every form of beauty, celebration, and activity connected either to the Kurdish nation or to the wider world.

I will end this writing with a quote from the Dalai Lama, who says:

“The purpose of religion is to control yourself and examine your own mistakes, not to criticize and question other people.”
